Thanksgiving

A Poem of Gratitude

I am thankful for my life.
For growing up in America, 
In a large and loving family, 
Where I could express myself
And still be loved and accepted. 
I am thankful for my extraordinary son,
And my funny, far-flung, rambunctious family,
And my loyal friends, colleagues and neighbors, 
Plus, random strangers who resonate with my work. 
I am thankful that I come from a family full of smart,
Responsible people who have contributed to our society.
I am thankful that I have found deep, authentic,
And abiding love with my dear husband:
A loving, generous man of strength
And commitment, 
Principle and patience,
Integrity and
Wisdom.
